Zooplankton Food Supplement
Zooplankton are multicellular microscopic organisms that serve as the meaty food source in coral ecosystems. These organisms are rich in protein, amino acids, fatty acids, lipids, and fibers. All organisms residing in coral islands directly feed on zooplankton, and many coral species lacking the symbiotic algae Xanthiellae also feed directly on zooplankton.
Some fish larvae, when they start feeding, do not have fully functional stomachs and gastric glands, which makes food absorption challenging due to the absence of necessary digestive enzymes. Foods like zooplankton can be an important external source for these enzymes. When zooplankton are consumed, proteolytic enzymes and other enzymes are released in the fish’s digestive tract, aiding in the breakdown of food into easily absorbable compounds. Zooplankton are an excellent food source for the large family of LPS and SPS corals, as well as filter feeders like tube worms, providing them with carbohydrates, lipids, and fatty acids.
Zooplankton is produced under specific and completely sterile conditions, meeting the needs of coral ecosystems in reef aquariums. This product containsspecies such as:
Shake the bottle well before use. For every 20 gallons of aquarium water, add one drop of the zooplankton supplement to the aquarium in an area with more water turbulence. It is recommended to turn off the filtration for 20 minutes during use. For professional feeding, mix 0.5 to 1 cc of the zooplankton supplement with 10 cc of aquarium water in a separate container, then use a syringe or pipette to feed the desired coral directly.
Note: It is best to use this food during the night when the lights are off.
